  • 1 Whisk or Spoon
  • Measuring Cups
  • 1 Microwave-safe bowl
  • Small shot cups or silicone molds

Ingredients

  • 3 oz strawberry-flavored Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water

  • fresh strawberries whole, tops trimmed

For the Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional)

Notes

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Jello Shots

  1. Boil 1 cup of water. Pour it into a mixing bowl and add the strawberry Jello powder. Stir until the Jello is completely dissolved.
  2. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup chilled vodka. Stir well to combine.
  3. Pour the mixture into small shot cups or silicone molds, filling them about 3/4 of the way.
  4. Place the cups in the refrigerator and let them set for at least 2-3 hours or until firm.

Step 2: Prepare the Chocolate Coating

  1. Once the Jello shots are set, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If using coconut oil, stir it in to thin the chocolate slightly.
  2. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly so it doesn’t melt the Jello.

Step 3: Dip and Decorate

  1. Remove the Jello shots from the fridge. Carefully dip the top of each shot cup or mold into the melted chocolate, creating a thin chocolate layer.
  2. Before the chocolate hardens, press a fresh strawberry (with the top trimmed off) into the center of the shot.
  3. Place the shots back in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.

Serve and Enjoy!

  • When ready to serve, you can garnish with a drizzle of white chocolate, sprinkles, or even a dusting of powdered sugar for a fancier look.
  • These can be eaten directly from the cups or gently popped out of silicone molds.

Tips:

  • For an extra flavor boost, use chocolate or whipped cream-flavored vodka.
  • Make a non-alcoholic version by substituting the vodka with cold water or strawberry juice.
  • Keep refrigerated until serving to maintain the texture.
