Notes
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Jello Shots
- Boil 1 cup of water. Pour it into a mixing bowl and add the strawberry Jello powder. Stir until the Jello is completely dissolved.
- Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup chilled vodka. Stir well to combine.
- Pour the mixture into small shot cups or silicone molds, filling them about 3/4 of the way.
- Place the cups in the refrigerator and let them set for at least 2-3 hours or until firm.
Step 2: Prepare the Chocolate Coating
- Once the Jello shots are set, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If using coconut oil, stir it in to thin the chocolate slightly.
- Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly so it doesn’t melt the Jello.
Step 3: Dip and Decorate
- Remove the Jello shots from the fridge. Carefully dip the top of each shot cup or mold into the melted chocolate, creating a thin chocolate layer.
- Before the chocolate hardens, press a fresh strawberry (with the top trimmed off) into the center of the shot.
- Place the shots back in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.
Serve and Enjoy!
- When ready to serve, you can garnish with a drizzle of white chocolate, sprinkles, or even a dusting of powdered sugar for a fancier look.
- These can be eaten directly from the cups or gently popped out of silicone molds.
Tips:
- For an extra flavor boost, use chocolate or whipped cream-flavored vodka.
- Make a non-alcoholic version by substituting the vodka with cold water or strawberry juice.
- Keep refrigerated until serving to maintain the texture.
